The pic below is what I was trying to go for (with regards to the meshed flooring). This is my attempt to get the same effect. As Daniel Grundy said in a comment before.
I started cutting up some sprews to use as the frame super gluing them together and then applied the tape. Once it was where I wanted it, I glued it into place.
Even with some super glue applied the mesh has a little spring in it.
