Memorialized conversions: Gloomspite (3rd Ed)

 With the Launch of the new Gloomspite gitz and its aligning with my Birthday once again I've found the drive to do some converting. I'm quite proud of these so I thought I would share so it can me memorialized.

Hey All 

I'm back, well... I'm gonna try get back in to writing about what I have been painting. The main purpose is to keep a record as my armies grow and what colours and techniques I use.

It's been about 4 years since I last wrote on here and there have been a few events that have helped free up time to paint.  

Over this last year and a half I set out to paint a few armies for Age of Sigmar a couple of them were +-2000pts of Orruk Warclans, +-2000pts of Cities of Sigmar and so far 1500pts of Sons of Behemat.

Painting progress October 2015

Hey all. (that's right I'm not dead)

I've been busy and in May went overseas for 3 months so didn't get a chance to post anything.
In the last year (gosh it has been a while) I finished up a couple of things and I am now working on

I will hopefully be putting up some pics of my progress more often so here's hoping.

Warpspiders colour combinations/Techniques.

Hey guys looking for some advice on a colour scheme/ techniques to use for my Warp Spiders. I've been unable to decide what to do with them and I've found the models to be a little finicky.

So how have you guys painted you Spiders?

Any advice or links to tutorials would be appreciated.

Painting Progress Aug

Hey all just popping it to show how some of my progress I have made to the list of WIP. This last week I've managed to finish the Hawks and that one Dire Avenger so I can field a unit of 10 without an Exarch.

1x Spiritseer (conversion)

I've got a tournament coming up in September (Preferred Enemies) with a few custom mission and it even has a side board. It is 1000pts made up of a 750pt core + (2x 250pt).

I'll keep you informed closer to the date on the missions and on my list.

Painting Progress: Swooping Hawk

So I started working on painting my Swooping hawks I've always wanted to have the wings rainbow kind of like the above pic from coolminiornot.  I ended up just gluing the wings on as all my drill bits couldn't seem to drill into the model very well and magnets weren't strong enough when they were small enough to be hidden.

Painting Progress July

Hey all I've been a bit slack with the Painting progress posts but I'll try catch you guys up.

At the end of May I had the following to be done.

1x Wraith knight
1x Dire Avenger
5x Wraith guard (scythe)

I managed to get the Wraith knight done to a table top quality. I'm quiet proud of how it ended up. With the Wraith knight being my first huge and expensive kit I didn't want to make any mistakes that couldn't be undone so I took my time doing the magnets and positioning it.

With July mostly done I'll just add to the list some things I've started.

40k board terrain matching

So after painting my canal I decided that my board was a bit too much brighter then my other terrain.

After posting on terragenesis I was given some advice of using watered down black to make it darker.

So here are some pics of my progress this weekend.

The wash I made in a ratio of 5-1 water to paint.

Eldar 1850pts list

Hey all I was wanting to get a 1850pts list painted by the end of the year that I thought would be enjoyable to play so this is my list so far. I've played one game with it and have some thoughts on how to optimize and change it a bit. For now tho i'll keep using it at least until I finish painting the units I want to sub in.

So here I've sprayed the foam/Bridges black and I was halfway through drybrushing the terrain with the dark gray paint.

So after a very long break from this project, I decided I needed to at least get it painted so this past weekend I went out bought some Matt Black spray paint and did some painting.

40k Maelstrom

Last week I played my first game of the new maelstrom missions.

 Eldar vs Tau. 

We played the 3 tactical card mission what ever its called that is played with the hammer and anvil deployment.

The Table is a mix of Neal from laser cut card's creations with some GW buildings and some custom stuff.

Just a quick update on my Knight I managed to get the bits based with imperial Primer. One thing I noticed was that the paint seemed to chip/rub off very easily. So I think I will need to seal the model once I have finished painting it.

On the road to Completion for my knight and hopefully soon I'll have the rest of my paint list finalized.

I've made some progress on my Wraith knight so Will be posting some pics of him in the next few hours so stay tuned for that its my first attempt and building and magnetizing such a big model so I'm quite proud of how it came out. Next step is painting it Wish me luck.

Wow 2000 total page views

Wow 2000 page views since I started a few months back as well as my 50th post. I'm quite happy with this. A quick shout out to Natfka for his help with joining his blog roll, which really helped with the views. And thanks to Malduran from skulkers-surprise for being an inspiration, for me in trying to do this blog stuff.

As I have said before I'm going to try be more consistant with my posts in the future, even with life getting in the way.

May Painting Challenge

I might not have gotten my painting challenge done completely but I did complete my Guardians and the Striking scorpions. I've managed to make some progress with my Knight .

Just a shout out to skulkers-surprise. I had shown these when I had first made them but since Malduran was wanting to correct the base size on his Wraith Guard on his latest painting challenge.
